🇲🇽LET’S CELEBRATE HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH 🇲🇽LET’S CELEBRATE HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH WITH @drinkpicadas
One thing I don’t talk about is that I often travel solo. On my recent road trip, I decided to bring along my parents for a well-deserved getaway to one of my favorite places in Texas, San Antonio!
I introduced them to one of my favorite Hispanic-owned businesses @drinkpicadas, they are Mexican-made hard aguas frescas. My dad enjoyed the mango flavor and my mom loved the guava flavor and said it was so good she didn’t even know it had alcohol in it!
I treated them to a nice family dinner, and introduced my mom to Mezcal, that watermelon cocktail was delicious! I convinced my dad to share the Tomahawk with me even though he said it was too much. Spoiler alert, not one piece was left.
And lastly, we made sure to spend some time relaxing by the pool, the hot tub, and the lazy river! Safe to say I had an amazing getaway with my parents and I can’t wait to bring them along on my next adventure! Cheers to spending time with family!
Thanks to Picadas for sponsoring this post!

How cool is the entrance to this 15-course speakeasy-inspired Omakase? We started off our experience by sharing what we were celebrating that night, took a sake shot, and started our journey through an amazing menu.
Some of my absolute favorites were the SHIRO SAKE (Ivory white salmon with Thai basil chimichurri), FOIE GRAS, AKAMI (the tuna just melted in your mouth), and ended the night with an amazing Mexican vanilla bean salted green tea affogato. Thanks for having us!
Definitely a good spot for your next celebration! It seats only 18 people so make your reservations in advance. Open Thursday-Sunday with 2 seatings a night at $175/pp

Lively Beach in Corpus Christi

Lively Beach in Mustang Island

Lively Beach Entrance

Looking to explore the Texas Coast? Lively Beach is a new resort condo located on Mustang Island in Corpus Christi, Texas. Lively Beach is located about 3.5 hrs from Houston and Austin, and 2 hrs from San Antonio. Use our code EST for 5% off the best available rate on your booking.

Recently opened in 2020, Lively Beach consists of resort style 1-2 bedrooms condominiums. There is a resort style pool, direct beach access to a white sand beach, pet friendly rooms, and a rooftop patio to watch the sunset.

The entrance to the resort is gated for security purposes. Checking in was completely contactless, we received an email with the gate and door codes as each unit has a keypad on the door for entry. Although everything was contactless, it was still easy to contact the front desk if we needed anything.

Disclosure: We were hosted by Lively Beach but recommend them and in no way allow this to impact our views. All opinions are our own.

Lively Beach living room

We really enjoyed these views from our  living room and the couches were so comfortable to watch TV.

The Rooms

There are 1-2 beds with 1-3 baths units available. All rooms have a full kitchen or an efficiency kitchen with all the cookware, and dining ware needed. They really made this resort to where you don’t have to leave for anything!

The bathroom has everything you need from a hair dryer, steamer, shampoo, conditioner, body wash and even a makeup remover towel and a close up mirror for makeup!

The closet space was just perfect enough to hang clothes and the doors had full length mirrors.

We loved waking up to these views from our room and the beds were so comfortable.

Lively Beach Boardwalk

Direct Beach Access

Lively Beach Boardwalk Mustang Island
Lively Beach Mustang Island

If you walk a couple of minutes down the beautiful scenic boardwalk you will walk directly to the beach.

The beach has white sand and the water was a little cool but perfect for the Texas heat. The beach was more secluded and not many people were around.

Beware there are tons of mosquitoes, so do not forget the bug spray!

Lively Beach Pool Mustang Island

Private pool

If you get tired of the beach, then you can hang out by the pool. It is only a few steps from your room. There are seats, chaises and tables if you just want to relax with your friends or get a nice tan!

Cooking/Places to eat nearby

There are full kitchens, or efficiency kitchens in your room so you are able to cook in your room. There are also grills just a couple of steps away from your room near the boardwalk area. You could even have lunch on some of the tables at the boardwalk, or have dinner on their rooftop patio.

We hadn’t bought groceries so we ordered takeout from these spots which were all only about 5 minutes away from the resort. Honestly, we did not have one bad experience and really enjoyed all these restaurants. Below are some of the restaurants that we tried.

1.) Island Joes Coffee– Such a cute place inside shipping containers. We tried their biscuits, kolaches and cinammon rolls and recommend it all. We actually stopped here twice for breakfast!

2.) Padre Island Burger Company – Burgers were classic and pretty good.

3.) Padre Poke –  James loves poke and he really enjoyed this place.

4.) Padre Pizzeria – I got a classic pepperoni pizza and it was so good, the bread was different but delicious.

5.) La Isla – We tried their barbacoa and al pastor tacos and they were delicious!

To recap, if you are looking for the perfect social distance getaway at the beach with beautiful white sands check out Lively Beach. This was actually our first time in Corpus Christi and we really think Lively Beach is perfect for family getaways or a relaxing vacation. Don’t forget to use our code EST for 5% off the best available rate on your booking.
